FAITID Took Part in 7th All-Russian E-Government 2012 Conference

26-27 April 2012 a meeting of business community and government was held at the All-Russian conference named “E-Government 2012. Information Society: Modern Infrastructure and Governance Technology”. infor-media Russia and Russian Agency for Information Society Development organised the event.

FAITID President Alexander Panov and FAITID Board Chairman Dmitry Burkov took part in the event.
 
E-Government 2012 was devoted to the main issues of information technology development and the creation of e-state in Russia. In particular, during the event the following topics were discussed: actual agenda for e-state, the possibility of unified electronic card implementation in Russia, ways and modern technology of e-government deployment, the problem of information inequality in the country.


   
Alexander Panov and Dmitry Burkov made a presentation about new top-level domains as unified information space on the Internet. The presentation described the ICANN New gTLD Program that inter alia allows to introduce geographical TLDs and domains for cultural and linguistic communities. Alexander Panov and Dmitry Burkov told the attendees how New gTLD can be used in the citizens’ interests.

Giving an example of the initiative that is being realized within the Program, Alexander Panov spoke about .MOSCOW and .МОСКВА top-level domains, the project supervised by FAITID: “The advantages the TLDs implementation are visible: creation of the city brand online, opportunity to form information space of the city, a stimulus for Internet technology development in the city, additional tool for the relevant content search in the Internet.”
