Foundation Awarded the Winners of the Positive Content Contest 2012

November 21, 2012 the winners of the 4th Positive Content Contest of Websites for Children and Young People were awarded at the Runet Awards Ceremony 2012. The contest was organised by RU-CENTER, the leading Russian domain name registrar, the Coordination Center for TLDs .RU and .РФ and the Foundation for Internet Development. The contest was supported by FAITID.

The Positive Content Contest 2012 winners were congratulated on behalf of FAITID by its CEO Matvey Alekseev. He said that the Positive Content today is not only a contest but the whole movement as well as the community of young and creative people. It is a platform where every website for children and young people can promote itself.

This year the awards ceremony was attended not only by the winners from Moscow but also from Dubna, Syzran and Novosibirsk. For those who could not visit the Russia’s capital, the organizers and partners of the contest sent gifts by post.

Two prizes for the winners of the contest were peculiar. The first one was the medal of the war correspondent Konstantin Simonov, it was awarded in the War and Peace Patriotic Nomination to the www.soldvictory.ru website. The bronze statue of a man with the wings as a symbol of creativity became the prize for the Best Art Website Nomination and went to www.artandyou.ru website.

In additon, every winner of the Positive Content Contest was awarded with many other gifts from its organizers, including computers, useful software, content management system licenses, hosting, souvenirs and educational literature.

The winners and organizers exchanged not only gifts and warm words at the Positive Content Contest Ceremony but also they drew some conclusions. In 2013 Positive Content Contest will celebrate its 5th anniversary. Here is some achievements of the contest on the eve of  its anniversary:

  • In 2012 the winners and finalists of all four Positive Content Contests were included in the Safer Internet League white lists of websites.
  • Except of the strict selection, another feature of this year’s contest was the multiple-step way of the winners‘ selection. One of the most interesting moments was the judging of the youth jury in which high school and university students representing different cities of Russia took part in.
  • In 2013 the organizing committee of the contest plans to introduce a special nomination for the websites focused on people with disabilities;
  • Another feature of the 4th Positive Content Contest were regional nominations introduced by ministries and departments of a number of Russia‘s regions.
