FAITID Board Chairman to Attend European Regional Registry/Registrar ICANN Meeting

The European Regional Registry/Registrar ICANN Meeting will take place in Amsterdam on 24-25 January 2013. The event is to be attended by prominent experts representing registrars and registrants, as well as by representatives of some companies providing their related services on the domain name market.

The meeting is expected to focus, among other things, on discussions around the implementation progress of the first New gTLD Program stage which provides for introducing several new domain zones. Notably, there are plans underway for section work aiming at putting the finishing touches to the text of the Registry Agreement; the latter will have to be entered into with the ICANN by all new gTLD registries after the approval of the strings they applied for. A round-table on efficient registrar-registrant partnership in the New gTLD age will also be held.

The European Regional Registry/Registrar ICANN Meeting will be attended by Dmitry Burkov, Board Chairman of the Foundation for Assistance for Internet Technologies and Infrastructure Development. Dmitry Burkov will take part in the sessions of the event as well as in a meeting of applicants for the geographic top level domains to be held in Amsterdam 23 January. Also Board Chairman is expected to have several meetings during the forthcoming event with the Foundation’s foreign partners on the .MOSCOW and .МОСКВА domains’ implementation project.
